In the last two years, Rajasthan Royals had harsh struggles with their spin bowling attack players. The owners this year took this matter seriously and bought two quality Indian international spin bowlers. A leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Now we can say that Rajasthan Royals IPL 2022 have been able to bolster their bowling on the very first day of the mega auction.
Rajasthan Royals is a franchise that hasn’t qualified since 2018 for the playoffs. Came this year in the auction with an intention to build a new squad for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League 2022.
Ahead of the mega auction 2022 Rajasthan Royals spent Rs 28 crore to retain three players for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. They have retained Sanju Samson at Rs 14 crore, Jos Buttler at Rs 10 crore, and Yashasvi Jaiswal at Rs 4 crore.
Rajasthan Royals bought eight players on the very first day of the mega auction of the Indian Premier League 2022. RR spent Rs 49.85 crore buying India’s fastest bowler and their most expensive player Prasidh Krishna at Rs 10 crore. RR added Ravichandran Ashwin at Rs 5 crore, Trent Boult an overseas player at Rs 8 crore. Shimron Hetmyer was picked at Rs 8.5 crore and Devdutt Padikkal at Rs 7.75 crore.
Rajasthan Royals acquired Yuzvendra Chahal at Rs 6.5 crore. Riyan Parag at Rs 3.8 crore, and with its base price RR bought KC Cariappa at Rs 30 lakh. After adding players in a squad of RR on day 1, Rajasthan Royals’ remaining purse value was Rs 12.15 crore. By spending approx. 50 crore on day 1 Rajasthan Royals built their squad with the strongest team with an expensive list of players on day one of the mega auction of IPL 2022.
On Day 2, Rajasthan Royals the Inaugural champion have finalized their squad with 24 players. On day 2 the RR’s first buy was Navdeep Saini at Rs 2.6 crore, Obed McCoy at Rs 75 lakh. With the base price of Rs 20 lakh, Rajasthan Royals bought Anunay Singh and Kuldeep Sen. Karun Nair was acquired at Rs 1.4 crore, and Jimmy Neesham at Rs 1.5 crore.
Rajasthan Royals picked another four players with their base prices of Rs 20 lakh Dhruv Jurel, Tejas Baroka, Kuldip Yadav, and Shubham Garhwal. Some other expensive buys on day 2 were Nathan Coulter Nile at Rs 2 crore and Rassie Van Der Dussen at Rs 1 crore. The last player Daryl Mitchell was bought at Rs 75 lakh.
Rajasthan Royals built a squad of 24 players out of which 16 are Indian players and 8 are from overseas.
After the second day of buying squad for Rajasthan Royals IPL 2022, their purse remaining value is Rs 95 lakhs.
