History of Highest Run-Scorer in PSL

Pakistan Super League is the best professional domestic league of Pakistan. Started by Pakistan Cricket Board in the Year 2016 and to date, we have witnessed the 7 seasons of the league. PSL is well known for bowlers. But there are some amazing batters who have managed to impress the Pakistani cricket enthusiast and are the highest run-scorer in PSL.

Babar Azam

Babar Azam is the highest run-scorer in PSL. In the first season, he represented Islamabad United, and later in the 2017 PSL players’ draft, he moved to Karachi Kings. In 2017 PSL he finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer.

Seeing his performance in the 2017 season Karachi Kings retained him in the 2018 season. And later he was appointed as the skipper of Karachi Kings. Under his captaincy, Karachi Kings won the champions title of PSL. He is the highest runner in PSL by scoring 2413 runs in 66 innings.

Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal is the second-highest run-scorer in PSL. In the inaugural season, Peshawar Zalmi bought him but Kamran Akmal was not up to the mark in the first season.  He was retained by the same franchise due to his tremendous performance in the 2016-17 Quaid-e-Azam trophy.

In the first match of the 2017 season against Islamabad United, he scored 88 runs in 48 balls. He ended the season as the highest run-scorer in PSL 2017 season. Kamran was also awarded the green cap and the Hanif Mohammad award for the best batsman. He also got the Imtiaz Ahmed Award for the best wicket-keeper of the season.

Kamran Akmal is the second-highest runner in PSL by scoring 1972 runs in 74 Innings.

Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman acquires the 3^rd position in the list of highest run-scorer in PSL. He was selected by Lahore Qalandars in 2017. During his time in Lahore Qalandars, he was closely mentored by Brendon McCullum.

Over time he has impressed the cricket fans as well as Pakistan Cricket Board with his excellent performance in PSL. Fakhar Zaman also holds the record for most runs in a season in the 2022 season he scored 588 runs in 13 innings.  He is the 3^rd highest run-scorer in PSL by scoring 1935 runs in 61 innings

Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik stands in the 4^th position in the list of highest run-scorer in PSL. In the inaugural season of PSL, he was appointed as the skipper of Karachi King. Under his captaincy, Karachi Kings only won two matches in the whole tournament and disappointed the fans.

He was retained by the same franchise in the second season and performed quite well when compared to the first season. He scored the big numbers in all the crucial matches with this he ended the season as the third-highest run-scorer in PSL season 2017.

Later he moved to Multan Sultans as their captain, initially, his team performed well but later on lost their rhythm when it mattered the most.  Then Shoaib Malik was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the 2020 season. He is the 4th highest runner in PSL by scoring 1882 runs in 68 innings

Mohammad Hafeez

Mohammad Hafeez Started his PSL career with Peshawar Zalmi after playing for 3 seasons he left the franchise. Prior to the 4^th edition of PSL and got selected by Lahore Qalanders and got the responsibility to lead the team. Mohammed Hafeez stands in the 5^th position in the list of highest run-scorer in PSL by scoring 1499 runs in 66 innings
