RCB vs LSG: The third week of the IPL is underway, and on Monday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants will square off. 

Last year, when LSG visited the Chinnaswamy stadium, tensions were high. Pooran and Stoinis destroyed the RCB bowlers in an attempt to chase a 200+ total. With only one victory in their last three games, RCB will drop to the bottom of the standings if they lose this match. LSG will be looking to move past their away defeat to the Royals in Jaipur. They will implement any strategies they find effective when playing Punjab at home.

The nicest thing that has occurred to RCB so far is that Kohli has found his touch. It is again after taking a short break from cricket. Dinesh Karthik has also contributed some significant runs in the lower order. He did a superb job of fulfilling his finishing role. But RCB has a lot to be concerned about. Concerning is Du Plessis’s weak start to the game.

The captain needs to bounce back from his two bat-related mishaps. Also, resume making the most of the powerplay by hitting some quick runs. Glenn Maxwell has shown flashes of brilliance. RCB won’t settle with that because of his capacity to alter the course of the game if he gets to play himself. They also terribly missed it versus KKR.

Green is in the same boat. He attempted to quicken the pace but was removed after playing with purpose. He was hitting a few boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking.

RCB has several issues when it comes to bowling as well. When Yash Dayal and Mohd Siraj use their radar correctly, they appear menacing; otherwise, they are just regular people. Lockie Ferguson should be inserted into the starting lineup in place of Alzarri Joseph, who needs to be given a break. Mayank Dagar’s deficiency in wickets is yet another major issue that RCB needs to resolve promptly. 

Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants’ tactical choices in the previous game surprised everyone, even the Punjab Kings, who were the opponents. KL Rahul was designated as the impact sub, and Nicholas Pooran was tasked with organizing the troops. On a recently re-laid strip, they chose to bat first without considering the possible repercussions of the chase turning against them if the dew set in. All that mattered was that they emerged victorious in the end.

Both Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya performed admirably, hitting some powerful blows later to elevate LSG over average on a strong batting strip. It’s concerning that Stoinis and Badoni don’t communicate well. 

In terms of bowling, Ravi Bishnoi is still finding his footing. Compared to what he has done in the first two matches, he is a better bowler.

While Mohsin Khan took two crucial wickets against Punjab to change the tide following a subpar bowling performance against the Royals in the season’s opening match, Naveen ul Haq has done a passable job. The season’s high point, though, has to be the addition of pacer Mayank Dagar, who bowled some wicked wheels the other night to finish with 3/27 off 4 in his first encounter.
